That is where a little carnage helps; clearing a shopping centre in a recession is that much easier. Whilst Merchants Quay could clearly do with a little help from the wrecking ball there is no doubt that if the country is serious about balanced regional development then Cork Docklands stands every chance of being fully redeveloped. Getting a proper public transport master plan in place would be a great start. Back to the carnage 🙁
