I remember the furore about this when it was built a few years ago. Though I think the locals were mainly upset at the huge size of it rather than the architectural quality.

Many Irish towns seem to have a building like this now – a “landmark by numbers” building; a few sweepy curvy bits, an angular wall and a big glass section – and, hey, the town is suddenly all happening again!
