I don’t know what this building was, it’s not given any label on any of the O.S. maps, so it doesn’t seem to have been a public building. That said, it does look a lot like the work of C.J. McCarthy [son of J.J.] who was City Architect around 1900, when all those similar fire stations were being built. C.J. designed the Corpo Library on Kevin St. and one of the buildings in the old Tech directly opposite the building in question, so maybe it was a nixer.
