Glass flooring

Can any of you Architects or Engineers out there give me your views or experience of using glass as a flooring system in a house?
I’m thinking of using it in an outdoor setting where it would be used to form a deck or platform over a parking bay. The glass would be opaque (i.e. semi-transparent).How difficult is it to use? Is it very expensive? Can it be sourced in Ireland?
