Architect: J.D. Postma
One of five industrial potato alcohol plants constructed to a similar design around Ireland by the Irish Government for Monarcaí Alcoil na h-Éireann. Relatively nearby is another example at Cooley, Co. Louth with others in Donegal, Mayo, and Sligo. The architect Jan Diederik Postma was Dutch. The factories were among the earliest industrial buildings in the International Modern style in Ireland with flat roofs and metal framed windows.
