From The Architect, October 30, 1875: These houses, now in course of erection, from the designs of Mr C. J. Adams, F.R.I.B.A., are situate in the village of Ormesby on the main road from Stockton to Redcar, facing the Cleveland Hills, and upon the estate of Miss Brown, of Ormesby Hall. The contractor for the whole of the work is Mr. J. Peacock of Ormesby, the total cost being under 1,000.
