Very similar in design to the nearby Lambeth workhouse by the same architect.
In 1894-5 a new workhouse was built in Mildenhall to replace an older one.
A major phase of new building took place in 1897-1901 at the St.
Constructed without the short clocktower. The entire workhouse complex was converted into housing in the early 1990s.
