William H. Hill (1867-1941)
Architect and engineer, of Cork. William Henry Hill, confusingly the son of another William Henry Hill, studied engineering for three years at Queen’s College, Cork, and then served a pupilage with his father who took him into partnership in 1899, when the practice was renamed W.H. Hill & Son. After his father’s death in 1911, he carried on the business under the same name. In 1919 he took Henry W. Flanagin into partnership, practising as Hill Son & Flanagin until around 1922 when the name reverted back.

Unusually designed buildings along Pearse Square dating from 1908 which show some Art Nouveau influences yet with the incredibly narrow facades resemble buildings from Amsterdam canal-banks.
