Thomas Hopper (1776–1856)

An English architect of the late 18th and early 19th centuries, much favoured by King George IV, and particularly notable for his work on country houses across southern England, Wales and Ireland.

1845 – Penrhyn Castle, Wales

Originally a medieval fortified manor house,

1856 – Gosford Castle, Co. Armagh

Architect: Thomas Hopper

Construction of the castle began in 1819 and finished in the 1850s.
