Entry in design competition for a new Church of Ireland in Strabane.
The memorial and drinking fountain in Abercorn Square commemorated Major John Humphreys –
Described as the new St. Comghall’s Church in the architecture press,
The railway line to Strabane from Omagh originally opened in 1847 and was run by the Irish North Western Railway.
Large parochial house or priests house behind the parish church. Contrary to the postcard image,
Fine brick and stone bank on a barrow wedge-shaped corner site.
Original shelter and seating constructed to replace the Humphrey Memorial. Replaced early 1990s with a larger shelter containing a retail unit.
Still in use today but as part of a larger campus.
