The construction on the house began in 1717, and it was completed in 1742 for George Rochfort on the Rochfort Demesne near Belvedere House and Gardens beside Lough Ennell.
In April 1814 work commenced on the building of the present All Saints Church.
Built in 1836, it was demolished in 1936 to make way for the new Christ the King Cathedral. Designed to accommodate 6000,
