Louis Adair Roche (1927-2014)
Louis Adair Roche was born in Monkstown, Co Cork and boarded for two years at Portora Royal School in Enniskillen. He went on to study architecture at University College London. On qualifying, Adair practised briefly in Kilkenny, moved for a few years to Dublin, before in 1957, joined Belfast architectural firm, Munce and Kennedy. He became a partner in 1962, selling his own designed family home in order to pay for his share of the practice. In 1972 he moved his family to London, establishing his own architectural practice as Isherwood, Semple, Ellis & Roche or ISER.
