Unbuilt extensions to the Alexandra Hotel –
An unbuilt proposal by the architect of Belfast’s city hall for an hotel on Donegall Square East.
Hotel renovated and extended to design of local civil engineer Civil engineer Richard Dowling around 1925-26.
Rebuilt (1925-27) after the ravages of the Civil War,
The Savoy-Plaza Hotel was constructed in 1927 on 5th Avenue between 58th and 59th Street,
At streetlevel the hotel seems to be a large formidable mass but eventually narrows for the tower where each floor has only one apartment.
