According to the architectural press of the day,
Described at the time: “In the interior of this branch of the Merchants Bank,
Now a restaurant.
“The building is of buff brick with Indiana limestone frieze,
After being used as a branck of Bank of Montreal for many years,
Still a Bank of Montreal who purchased the Merchants Bank of Canada in 1923.
