Constructed through the generosity of the Dowager Duchess of Leeds between 1865-68; the location was originally known as Bletchingley Farm,
“This church, of which we give an illustration, is to be erected on a suitable site near Mallow,
Commissioned by a Major Seel, it cost him £27,000, an enormous sum in those days.
Completed by Ashlin after the demise of the partnership, although the original tower and spire designed by Pugin &
Designed by E.W. Pugin & G.C. Ashlin in 1866, opened in 1872, but the church was not finally completed until 1881 when the spire was finished.
