Edgar Prain (1881–1958)
Scottish born architect who articled with T.S. Robertson in Dundee (in 1896-1901), then spent two years as a draftsman with the Glasgow architect Hugh Barclay. In 1902 he moved to London and joined the Architect’s Department of the London County Council, and participated in the design and construction of dozens of substantial housing projects then underway between 1902 and 1907. Prain emigrated to Canada in 1908. At one time in a loose partnership on several projects with Gilbert Parfitt (1886-1966) as Parfitt & Prain.
