The Church of Ireland built a fine gothic church with red sandstone trim to designs by Sir Thomas Drew who produced two alternate designs,
In 1881, Arthur Edward Guinness, Lord Ardilaun proposed to construct a new church, on a site he would provide at the village end of his St.
Unbuilt design by William Batt. Instead in 1894, a church was constructed to designs of Henry Seaver who was the rector’s brother.
Constructed for the Church of Ireland, and built in several stages. Never completed however as the fine tower and spire was abandoned.
Designed by noted English church architect Sir Arthur W. Blomfield, the gift of 5th Earl of Carysfort William Prob,
Chapel-of-ease for the St. George’s Parish. The building was built to accommodate 400 people. Demolished to make way for a rectory in 1963.
Never received the unusual cupola to the tower. Fine stained glass window collection.
