Charles A. Barber (1848-1915)

Charles Arnold Barber was born in Upper Canada and was an architect and an inventor with a slightly shady reputation later in life. The majority of Barber’s architectural work took place in Winnipeg between 1876 and 1898 where he designed schools, colleges, church buildings and office buildings. By 1883, his firm, Barber & Barber, with his brother Earle W. Barber, was becoming the largest and most successful in Winnipeg.
