1180 – Carrickfergus Castle, Co. Antrim One of the finest Norman castles in Ireland, Carrickfergus Castle is sited along the harbour front, controlling the seashore. Probably constructed by John de Courcey sometime around 1180,
1611 – North Gate, Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim Lord Deputy Sir Arthur Chichester enclosed Carrickfergus with stone walls from 1611 onwards and more than half the circuit is still visible,
1730 – Castle Dobbs, Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim Castle Dobbs was built in 1730 by Arthur Dobbs, Surveyor-General of Ireland; and Governor of North Carolina. As Surveyor-General, Arthur Dobbs supervised the construction of the Irish Parliament House in Dublin.
1856 – Joymount Presbyterian Church, Carrickfergus, Co. Antrim Italianate church, schools and manse constructed between 1855 and 1856 to designs of an unknown architect.
