Rebuilt in 1926 by an unknown architect after the Edinburgh Life Insurance Company was destroyed in 1922.
Gabled, half-timbered-effect block of shops &
Hotel renovated and extended to design of local civil engineer Civil engineer Richard Dowling around 1925-26.
