Still in use today, it was described at the time of its completion as a ‘very neat little church’.

In 1859, The Legislative Assembly in Ottawa voted the sum of £75,000 for the erection of a “Parliament House”
A fine bank building on the end of a block allowing the architect to design three elevations and create an Italian palazzo.
