Poor housing design may mean refusal, planner warns
The chairman of Bord Pleanala has criticised the poor quality of design in many new housing developments and warned about planning refusals as a result. John O’Connor said in some developments there had been attempts to cram in more houses to achieve higher densities with the quality of design leaving “something to be desired” He warned more developments would be refused planning permission unless they were able to show proper design which blended in with local surroundings and provided occupants with facilities.
