1826 – Court House, Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow
1794 – Obilisque Pedestils and Orrens
Architect: Michael Nowlan
Inscription reads: “A Plan of an Obilisque Pedestils and Orrens to be done for Samuel Faulkner Esq. To be erected over the gateway at the entrance to the Forth. December 3rd 1794. Drew at large by a scale of 2 feet to one Inch by Michael Nowlan.” Samuel Faulkner was the agent to estates of the Whaley family, which included country houses at Castletown, Co. Carlow, and Whaley Abbey, Co. Wicklow, and a town house at 85, St Stephen’s Green, Dublin. He was also known as an amateur architect, so the possibility arises that this design may have been drawn on his instruction.
