Published in The Building News, December 4 1874: “This lodge was designed for the late E. Chaloner, Esq., and as it was for a subordinate entrancc, was by his request kept small and simple in outline — a special instruction being that there should be only one stack of chimneys, and that in the centre of the building. Mr. S.J. Nicholl, of 1, Caversham-road, N.W., is the architect. “
