Hi All,Is it just me or is the general upkeep of hedging this summer gone way down?Im thinking especially of the midleton dual carriageway,south link,ballincollig by-pass (to a lesser extent).The general grubbiness associalted especially with the central medians nevermind the overgorwn grass and hedgerows really looks terrible and portrays the city and county in a very poor light.

Just for those of you travelling on the N25 today, we are back to the one lane each way between Carrigtwohill and Midleton.On this, I thought that an overpasss was to be constructed?I hear now they are constructing a signalised T junction, great news isn’t it on a dual carriageway?! Especially one as busy as this is..:oLikewise,here’s one more lost FF voter.The PDs are as bad and share in the culpability here also.FF’s watchdog?More like lapdog..
Well for me it wont be Fianna Fail..the prime example os the Cork Airport debt promise that was broken,,I notice the decision keeps being put off..hmm, I wonder will the decision be after the general election by any chance?…
As well as the opening of the new terminal at Cork airport today, the official Cork Airport website has been updated too! Check it out at /www.corkairport.com/.There are a lot of internal photos on the site as well.It looks great!:)
On a previously commented issue relating to Cork Airport, the airport website http://www.cork-airport.com/ is to be relaunched within the next week.The existing website is looking seriously dated, especially in comparison to those of Shannon and Dublin.
With regard the the skylink service running between the city and airport; their website is http://www.skylinkcork.com, 5 euro one way according to the website.

Any word on the progress of the new airport terminal?Has it been completed and signed over to the CAA?Great stuff with the airport pics Bosco..what exactly is the Cetral Utilities Building for?It seems separate from the Multi-Storey carpark..was the covered connection between the new terminal and the new car park also dropped in the DAA’s frantic last minute cost cutting?It would be a shame not to go to and from your car to the plane without getting soaked as you do right now!! 😮
I see that plans are to be announced shortly for a second terminal at Dublin Airport.I wonder if the Dublin Airport Authority and Minister Cullen will have any problems there with cutting airbridges from their proposals?..I sincerely doubt it
Whats this I hear about the axing of airbridges at the new terminal for Cork Airport?This seems an absolutely scandalous decision having spent over 100 million euro on the development.Surely if they need to cut back on costs on the project,then I am sure there are other parts to the development that can be scaled down or delayed rather than this vital part of the new terminal.It would mean certainly no transatlantic flights for the foreseeable future also.I wonder who is behind all this though?It smacks of the vested interests of the Shannon lobby to me.
It would have been even nicer in my opinion if they could have continued that canopy effect on the front of the building (the new arrivals area) to the rear of the bus station from where buses are departing from at the moment.

With all of the development and “resurfacing the island” it would be nice for the city of culture year if the council or someone could also look at painting the roadside poles and roadsigns,and cleaning the signs as well!
actually speaking of tarmac,does anyone know which streets in the city centre are going to be resurfaced over the coming months?Im thinking the South Mall and Parnell Place,they are both in a terrible condition.
Hey All,has anyone got any photos or updated info on how the new terminal and associated works are going at Cork Airport?
There was an article in the Sunday Tribune Business section yesterday explaining the financial difficulties that Jarvis are in and they also speculated that this could have a knock-on effect on the Cork School Of Music development which Jarvis are constucting as part of the PPP agreement with the Department of Education/CIT.Anyone heard anymore on this?Do you think this will delay or even worse (shudder to think) put some serious doubts about the project?
