What is your suggestion, Denouncer, if not an objection to development on this site?
Coming from you it’s a brainwave, coming from a local resident it’s NIMBY whingeing? Gotta love the logic.

How many local residents have put forward my amazing and progressive suggestion? I don’t know. If they have – WELL DONE TO THEM.
I’m not objecting to a development on the site but why settle for a NIMBY compromised stadium? Why are we always settling for NIMBY compromised visions for every bloody development in this country?

Not much to it really – basically the RPA guy said that they expect to have passangers on it by 2009. it’ll cost €100,000,000 to do it. As far as I could make out Plan A was the one, the segment of the show was all about cutting up O’Connell St. and distruption, just after the current O’Connell St. regeneration is complete.

To be honest I’d rather see a beautiful roofed 70,000+ seater in the docks than this NIMBY compromised vision

Tara street looked terrible this morning! The gleaming Ulster Bank bbehind it was offset by the awful temporary wooden fencing and grafitti, and a large advertisment cut to shreds by someone with too little brain and too much time on their hands.

Yeah it could be a police state with climate control, probably fairly tropical by then in the summers. We’ll have a 500 metre building by then, maybe. A Manhattan skyline in Balbriggan. And in the distance..Lansdowne will be visible, three-quarters built.

The €1 billion project to widen the M50 motorway around Dublin has been delayed because of the Government’s change of policy on tolling,
In the light of the Government’s new policy on tolling, the National Roads Authority (NRA) was forced to withdraw the major portion of the project and launch a new tendering process.
Work was due to begin before the end of this year and was scheduled for completion by 2010. It will now be at least 2011 before it is finished.

What would I give for a time machine to pop forward 10 years and take a photo of the docks. Lansdowne will be visible in the distance, half built.

The Krann building? Couldn’t find anything on Google – any more details on it?
Looking at some old posts it becomes clear that some many developments remain up in the air, even posts 5 or 6 years old – Liberty Hall, Tara St., Talbot St. ..the longing for skyscrapers. Still little seems to be done to showcase Dublin as a modern thinking city, apart from the Luas and Spire. Is the U2 Tower settled on 100 metres or 78 metres? Lot of confusion there.

Thanks phil..it sure doesn’t look like it’ll fit beside that building thats there now!
BTW whats being built beside Pearse St. train station, seems to be moving along quite rapid now.

Thanks phil! The whole of Barrow st. is undergoing a lot of change, I used to live in one of the small houses on Gordon St. years ago – are they protected? When the Gasometer opens there’ll be a huge influx of people in the area. Not impressed with some of the road patches on Barrow St., looks like tar was just thrown willy nilly in the general direction of the road! BYW there is a small burnt out warehouse or something beside the Grand Canal Dock train station, Prime real estate. Still there burnt out that for years now. Things happen very slowly in this city.
