    I like the proposal whereby planning applications will only be accepted with the stamp and approval of a qualified architect (RIAI approved). In practice this would mean cowboys would just pay architects to stamp their shitty third rate designs, but the idea has merit

    On the trains between belfast and dublin can you smoke til the border then is it no smoking the rest of the way? Its probably only a matter of time before the ban spreads to the britons.

    any of the above would be good. most important to me would be;
    the midleton line reopening,
    electrify dublin to cork route,
    Open Access for Other Passenger Operators on Irish Rail Network,
    late night darts.

    On top of that, replace network catering with a decent private service. And fire all those miserable, rude, gum-chewing bints that serve food in an awful condition for inflated prices.

    Also, replace the entire Kent Station complex with a decent modern station. And straighten the platform to avoid long jumps onto and off the train.

    It was on display (as a 1/100 model) across the road in the estate agents for a while last year. It is truly crap. What did you expect though? A decent building which would add to the area and create a higher profile for quality architecture in an area in dire need of it? Please. Remember the dialling code for this country is +353

    Ok, i’m with you on it being unusual and somewhat eye-catching. if it was well maintained and tarted up like busaras (no, not you) it would be fine. But as it is its a waste, and throwing 4 million at it is a huge waste. Another few FF votes for berties continuing ride on the power wave methinks

    It doenst need work. It needs a bulldozer. Its a poorly laid out badly designed building that doesnt maximise the potential of the site in the 21st century and which has fallen into chronic disrepair. The institutional lethargy of the staff and management there is something which is also protected by the continued use of this outdated atrocity of a bus station.

    Hmmm. I’d like to see more. Definitely not against medium to high density in the area, but the park should be sacrosanct.

    Is it actually in the park or just outside it?
