ParticipantDoes the use of the words “Group” and “independent” in the same title seem a little odd to anyone else?

Participanti would imagine (read “guess”) they are a body to represent so-called architects who haven’t qualified with a degree or diploma in architecture or architectural technology. their advertising is woeful if i’m guessing right.
maybe not so much “splitters” as an alternative to proper qualifications.

Participantit is a pretty appalling piece of ugly. the high concept rotational stuff is straight out of a calatrava sketch-book, but lacks any of the finesse or detail.

Participantmy fave was the nicola mongelli entry.

Participanthow about a string of car-ferries ringing the country, with wee bridges connecting them all, head to tail. a trip to donegal would begin at dun laoghaire.

Participantsounds like the problem of affordable housing is being left to the fringes. i would be of the opinion that an integrated system like that at clarion quay would be better.

ParticipantNoooooooo…….stupid stupid stupid.

Participantany docklands residential development would be subject to he 20% social and affordable bit wouldn’t it? so long as this is enforced it will be quite democratic and diverse in it’s make-up.

Is the fact that the DDDA is talking to Liam Carroll, owner of the adjacent site, an indication that it realises the site footprint is too small? Also, if the site footprint and/or the shoulder height is changed, don’t other entrants now have a right to sue for the costs of entering the competition?
How was the original muck-up sorted out, or was it?why should they sue? the competition was staged and enterred upon certain criteria. admittedly the winner wasn’t the best entry, nor was the jury system transparent. but surely the DDDA have the right to alter the winning design to suit changing requirements? i would imagine all entries signed away the right to regain any expenditure or entrance fees.
