So do you think that community is being lost in places of residence vs. lost in general?

Has community, for some, moved online like this forum?

Or maybe the internet has allowed some of us to lean on communicating electronically vs. face to face, thereby neglecting the “conversations over the backyard hedge”?

What a delicious testimony to Dublin grime.

Aken that is too funny – I meant of course that they’re tagging in silver!

And mmm, gray, another nice sort of non-color, color.

It’s hard to know how dated silver will feel once everyone has circled back to using hues that now speak of decades past.

Then there’s the whole psychology of color, what makes people anxious or calm. And we can’t forget color blindness. Some folks largely see stuff only in brown…

If silver is the new brown, then there’s some little graffiti-spraying kids in Wales who are up on the trend, albeit via largely remedial technique. Was one of the first things I noticed from the train.

And how fickle am I, having been in love with silver until it started appearing everywhere…

Oooh, I like that tip, thank you. Let me see if I can manage a little visit at just the right time. Pics will be great.

And I see not much in the way of nicknames – maybe later on.

You’ve left me feeling a little queasy after reading all that. At least the American “my garage is the most prominent feature of the front of my new home” hasn’t taken over. I don’t care if it’s functional. We’ve got vast subdivisions of garage doors.

Except in my lovely old neighborhood. 🙂

It would make the large “coke can” part of that building-in-theory shine nicely. A bugger for window cleaners though, sliding around sideways.

I like that spot too, except I don’t think of it as a square. I glance over weekly on my hop over to the bank. Just get the trash out and it’s an unexpected break along Dame. Wonder if it has any greenery around it later in the year?

And a great list this has become!
-finally had a bit of sushi at Sat. market/Meeting House Sq.
-realized that a woman in a red coat is a tad conspicuous on Henrietta Street
-swooned over a glimpse of Howth from the DART
-had a lovely picnic in Iveagh with a friend
-was reminded of a previous visit to the ultra-quaint Dead Zoo
-didn’t make it up the hill when in Dalkey!

Well I do see the big yellow hotel I stayed in…weird to revisit the notion of the proposed building which I remember from 2000.

Don’t like that something like that would be at water’s edge, smack in the middle of a nice smooth “view”. Next would come others of similar height and then you’ve got nothing but tall stuff scattered about. Would put it farther inland.

O.k., maybe it would be fine with a hoard of landscaping in accompaniment.

I was planning to go this weekend, but am waiting on a friend’s schedule to clear.

Had not had a chance to review Archeire/Belfast information yet – struggling with this pitiful internet connection… Now I’ve got some extra time though.

I’ll certainly have a full plate when I get there then! And what a great preview that pic is.

Good tip on the housing estate etiquette. I’d be sure to get myself into some uncomfortable position, without even realizing it.
