ParticipantFirst section is in O’Connell Street and should be up by this afternoon. Hooray

ParticipantIf we were still under direct control from London, we’d be a provincial shithole like Bradford or Sheffield. So be proud to be Irish lads, we need strong leadship from within (better than the gobshites we have) not blaming the British etc which we have been doing for the last 80+ years.

ParticipantLove the shot of lansdowne, by night…

ParticipantThe yellowy/beige stuff is a non skid surface, have to agree that yellow or red would look good on O’Connell Street (Red looks very well around the Town Hall in Cardiff)

ParticipantArchitecturally, what went wrong – I blame the Diaspora of the 40s and 50s, the talent left the country (bankrupt, repressive catholic backwater) and hence we were left with the “sure it’ll do approach” which we are only starting to climb back out of

ParticipantI look forward to when they add the Giant Olive to it, before dropping the whole thing into the world’s largest Martini! ;->

ParticipantI blame the BANANA problem – Build Absolutely Nothing Anywhere Near Anything. There is too many vested interests and there is such a weak mentality in the government of trying to appeal to everybody at the same time.
Can this be the end of this national stadium nonsense? Give the IRFU and FAI assistance and cash (same as GAA) in building and Developing their own stadia. Then at least we could have 2 decent stadia that could be opened up for the 2012 European Championships

ParticipantGAA are just a bunch of Bigots, how dare Ahern just give away taxpayers money for a Grand Projet, the man thinks he’s Mitterand – alas he’s a sadly deluded stuttering gobshite. What makes matters worse, we vote for him.. therefore we are all gobshites.

ParticipantMetro’s been cancelled full stop – just to make your blood boil further J. Seerski.

ParticipantAgreed, best to get it right rather than make a bags of it, we’ve wated 4 years a few days more wont be the end of the world.
“If a thing is worth doing its worth doing right” – I’ve always believed in this motto

ParticipantTreasury Holdings using PR, what ever next…

ParticipantI think a weir would be simpler, surely it wouldn’t cost that much
Rory W
ParticipantIt’s supposed to be integrated with the new office block that is being built behind it and something about a restaurant was mentioned – should make for an interesting office entrance anyway
Rory W
ParticipantI remember the water taxi service for the Dublin Millennium (88) having a big picture on on the front page of the Times – idea died on its arse though
Rory W
ParticipantSo long as we don’t get some mock-victorian style cobblers for pylons (would look stupid I’m afraid) the modern Pylons look good to me, anyway in most areas the lines should be strung between buildings so no need for pylons.
Rory W
ParticipantWell thank god we’re building a pedestrianised bridge, for the sake of building one, rather than some contrived nonsense like the millenium
Rory W
ParticipantThe National Spatial plan will not work – there are too many towns involved. It is an utter waste of time and a shambles

ParticipantBollards … to you all.
Surely a few bollards will keep the Al-Quida/Skanger element at bay

ParticipantIts a bit bad Flatley pulling the “race” card because he isn’t happy.
Bit of an Ali G “Is it coz i’s black”

ParticipantAm I the only one who doesn’t find the “Stilletto in the Ghetto” for the spire remotely funny?
