ParticipantThere’s not much inside it either – Roches Stores, Super Valu food, Golden discs, McDonalds, Chemist, Jeweller, Mobile Phone Store, Bewleys and thats it really. Not really worth pulling down frascati really

ParticipantThey’ve started to open up the interior of the building, new escalator atrium opens up the 5 floors of retails space quite well – still a bit of a mess down there but improving nicely.
Sure the store will be soleless but at least it will be 21st century soleless and not 1960s soleless that was there before!

ParticipantYep on a big boulder next to the bus stop on the Frascati Road
You’re not missing much by avoiding the Frascati Centre – it’s not very good

ParticipantFar be it for us to tell Trinity how their campus should be run. Leave it as Tennis courts
Grovenor Sq, Fitzwilliam Sq, Merrion Sq, Mount Pleasant Sq… all very exclusive tennis court places which could be better I think.
Don’t forget that the squares are there in lieu of a front garden and thus it should be up to the residents as to how the square is used.
I rather see a tennis court than a junkie

ParticipantBut I wonder will they have the good sense to resurface the traffic lanes on Harcourt Srteet and the green prior to the opening of the Luas – this would make sense…

ParticipantAs you may all recall there was once upon a time a plan for a mega bus station on aston Qy that was going to avoid all the problems you mention re: Busaras. So at least once upon a time CIE has some foresight
Only proposed for Dublin Bus services not Bus Eireann services

ParticipantThat’s going to be one hell of a building Dublin’s own Galleries Lafayette!!! Good luck to them I say – now if only they could do away with the tatty branch of H Samuel and the dross in between at the corner of Liffey Street…

ParticipantLots of damage to the decorative stone on the pillars on the way into alliance francais – was this pre or post cleaning I wonder?
Rory W
ParticipantIt’s not bad at all – wonder what the final use will be?
Rory W
ParticipantHow were the designers to know – the Garda didn’t have a mounted unit when the bridge was being designed and who would have thought the guards would use a pedestrian bridge for non pedestrian traffic??!!!?
Rory W
ParticipantI would be superb if a uniform set of awnings was introduced for the entire street (And D’Olier/Westmoreland too – v. impressive
Rory W
ParticipantI thought it was modelled on one of the old orange CIE double deckers from the 70s!

ParticipantLooking at it this morning they have split the road two lanes for Cuffe Street and 2 lanes to continue around the green. Seems to work…
I see that the Cuffe Street lane closure took less than 3 of the scheduled 4 weeks, credit where credit is due – well done Luas constructors

ParticipantAs one who has dabbled in brand management in the past – one of the worst things you can do is have variations of your logo – if you are changing your old logo make sure you have the ability to dispose of older versions of your image within a month or so – if not rebranding is a waste of time.

ParticipantZara is nothing special, we’re talking Marks and Spencers quality. Mexx is much better quality and they have stores here.
What makes Zara special is that they sell high quality clothes at reasonable prices and also have an amazing turnaround time for their products (6 weeks from initial design to shop). If they keep the pricing structure the way they have in the rest of europe they will wipe the floor with the competition.

ParticipantOh wow – this is taking on Watergate proportions.
Rory W
ParticipantWhat’s causing the damage is the Garda Horse Patrol – which I have witnessed crossing the bridge – approx 1 tonne of horsemeat should do it
Rory W
ParticipantI’m looking out my window at it at the moment – surely two way traffic will be nuts along there?
Rory W
ParticipantNot an English Home Counties wannabe name, but I just love “Cyber Plains” in Leixlip

Participantthey were photos of them on fjp’s site
http://www.fantasyjackpalance.com/fjp/photos/index.html
though quite why fjp is dead I don’t know!!!
It was the old Cassidy’s store that has been knocked not Dunnes supermarket. Nobody could even try to get away with knocking part of the South City Markets
