A bit of activity around the Point today (and a board has appeared mentioning something about Point Village)… looks like it may be starting…
Does anyone know exactly how much of the land around the Point grounds that Crosbie owns? Does he own the site to the left on the river front?
Does the board show any pictures of the tower? Will the tower start now or at a later date I wonder?
PepsiParticipantI really like the new version of the U2 Tower. It’s a pitty there isn’t more of this type of building going up. I have heard that a lot of people like it in it’s updated form.
PepsiParticipantIt might actually look better when it is built. We will have to wait and see. To be honest I’ve seen a lot worse… Hawkins House, Ballymun…
PepsiParticipantI was shocked to hear that this is actually being built and soon. I know it’s not the most attractive looking building but it’s a start. The Republic of Ireland will actually have a skyscraper! It’s about time.
PepsiParticipantDoes anyone have a link to the Irish Times report that Rusty Cogs is talking about? Thanks.
PepsiParticipantDoes anyone know when the tower at the Point Village will begin? Is it this year?
PepsiParticipantThanks Paul. 🙂
PepsiParticipantPaul, what’s the website address you are using for Dublin Corporation? I would like to look through those cameras too. I have been unable to find them on the internet.
PepsiParticipantI got word today that the feature building at Vantage will be lauched shortly and that it will be completed by mid 2008. It looks like another highrise will be going up soon so. I heard it will be 16 storeys.
PepsiParticipantI like The Spire too. It could do with a clean though.
PepsiParticipantThe U2 Tower and Heuston Gate are a step in the right direction.
PepsiParticipantI like the Unison report. I must say I really like the new version of the U2 Tower.
PepsiParticipantWhat will be the tallest building in Spencer Dock? I can make out a few tall ones from that top image.
PepsiParticipantThat top picture has a high rise that looks cylinder in shape. It is not shown in the bottom picture. It is east of the NCC. What is it?
PepsiParticipantI agree. It should be under the terminal. It would make life so much easier and would make a lot more sense.

its just a pity its up the north.
I agree fully. A building like that it Dublin would be nice. That height is fine by me. I heard that it is actually 29 storeys and not 26 as advertised. I am curious as to what stage it is at right now?
PepsiParticipantDoes anybody have any pictures showing Obel’s progress to date?
February 28, 2006 at 9:14 pm in reply to: Dublin Airport Metro to have unconnected terminus? #749527PepsiParticipantAccording to the Six One News today we will have the Dublin Metro up and running by 2012! Is it really going ahead or is it just all talk? Dublin certainly needs it.
PepsiParticipantIf it were me I’d build it.
