KeymasterYes. Sunlight Chambers my eye, very basic mosaic patterns which can vary from area to area. For instance the ones near the railway lines have trains on the mosaics. Others have an abstract pattern.

As for the Royal – there’s lots of these about. ‘National’ would be much more republican sounding (‘State’ might be a touch Orwellian) but I suppose we should value these little eccentricities from our past.Jokingly – we should set up the National Institute of Architects π or the Real or Continuity Institute of Architects in Ireland – nice set of initials… easy to remember RIAI π

KeymasterLOL, think Archeire has been in that column before… π damn i had to let my subscription lapse due to lack of money to renew… better renew and look for a copy of this….
hmmm plenty of RIAI mentions in archeire search…. π
http://www.archeire.com/search/ice2-for.cgi?KEYWORDS=riaiThis might explain why I have seen a few clickthrus from the “Members Only” section of the RIAI site.
Personally I have nothing against the RIAI except that I’m doing the work that they should be, and I think they know it, so a link would be nice π My one gripe would be that they never add me to their press release list despite me asking several times.
I do wish though that we could get more of a discussion going outside of Dublin, both Irish and International. And less height obsessed π

KeymasterThey’re the exact same images on Macken and Murcia but if you look at Murcia the image appears squeezed – wrong specified pixel width….. but also the Murcia bridge is half the length of the Macken Street bridge – these factors suggest to me that the wrong image has been inserted…
of course i could be wrong..

KeymasterBecause unlike the majority of Irish people I don’t have a car. I like to see the theatre or concerts as part of a well rounded night out with a city centre meal before hand and perhaps a drink afterwards also in the city centre. Being dependent on buses or taxis to and from Glasnevin kinda migates against this. Venues like the theatre in TCD, the Gaiety, the NCH or Abbey do not have this problem. Incidentally a good friend of mine who is an academic in DCU describes the project as a large “white elephant in waiting”.

KeymasterI’ll try and oblige – will be in the area in next few days.

KeymasterThe stub of the old building is now gone and replaced by some very cheap and nasty looking red brick better suited for an estate in Naas.

KeymasterExactly, just because some guys took refuge in it, probably because it was the only front door they could force…..

KeymasterPapworth if you look, it is now only the older buses with middle doors. The new buses all have wider front doors and kneeling facilities as well as a wider gangway. Allows for more standing as well as wheelchairs and prams.
