KeymasterFrom The Irish Times
Sir, – Between 1957 and 1969 a series of exhibitions on sacred art and architecture took place in Dublin, two of these – the 1962 Exhibition of Sacred Art and the 1969 Art in Worship Today exhibitions – focused on Irish artists and architects working in this area.
I would like to hear (either by e-mail eimirobrien@hotmail.com or by post to the address below) from anyone who either visited or was involved in any of these exhibitions. My interest relates to a PhD research project in this area. – Yours, etc,

KeymasterHe’s his own worst enemy but there’s possibly a reason behind it. Thinking aloud, if you can manage a way to not acknowledge the authority of the court on a minor issue, it opens up legal opportunity on something larger.

KeymasterFrom an AAI /UCC lecture “Stasus will be discussing their recent work including Animate Landscapes from the forthcoming Pamphlet Architecture 32: Resilience. The project for an experimental film institute, mediates between a postindustrial site in Warsaw and the Edinburgh studio in which it was developed. By identifying, interrogating and ultimately reinforcing the physical and immaterial conditions of both landscape and studio, the project generates a new space from an attention to remnants, silence and the complex temporality of anachronistic things.”

KeymasterAlways a particularly grim church, St Mary’s, especially externally.

Survey of the Courts of Justice and the Several Holdings and Avenues Contiguous, Dublin 1813, By Sherwood Brassington & Green
An original plan ‘Ordered by the House of Commons to be printed 14th July 1813’. The colouring was completed at the time of publication to indicate boundary lines and ‘Lines of Insulation Suggested in the Report of the Committee of Observation, &co on The Public Records”
According to the explanation given top left, “The Green Lines and Shade, exhibit a plan of Insulation and additional Buildings, by Francis Johnson, Esq, Architect and Inspector of Civil Buildings; and the small Black double line, shews another Plan of Insulation; neither of which were followed on account of the Expense and of additional Buildings being provided at the King’s Inns”

KeymasterThe old council chamber was in City Hall, which of couse is largely unused by the city council these days, except maybe for meetings. Not sure if they built a new one in the bunkers or not.
As you can see, a simple enough room, with an ornate Lord Mayoral chair, huge portraits, chandeliers, and a very large crucifix over the chair 😉[attachment=0:pg3sw688]councilchamber.jpg[/attachment:pg3sw688]
