Whatever about BK, I’d like to know why DCC aren’t on top of this already. Can you imagine if BK tried this on Barcelona’s La Ramblas? It would be taken back down in minutes!

    It certainly isn’t.

Is it time for clues? D & F are both south facing..

Is F the building, recently restored opposite Pearse Sq, I’m in Milan so can’t verify the exact address. It was a school I believe, now a Community Centre.

    It’s not, sorry. 🙁

B is of course the Provost’s House.

Is F the former Richmond Hospital/Dublin Metropolitan Courts? Doesn’t seem to be any of the Iveagh Buildings…

    E – correct
    B – correct
    F – incorrect

Are they mirroring the plan of O’Connell Street / D’Olier Street / Westmoreland Street here?

    Quite an observation! 😀

    That’s the one.

While it’s a good sketch, it would be nice to see some computer genrated images of it. I’m sure we will see more pictures when the development starts – they usually paste up images of the development on the building site hoardings.

The tower, facing the U2 Tower on Britain Quay on the opposite bank of the Liffey, would “form a dramatic marine gateway into the city”,

    Dramatic?

I am looking forward to seeing the new Beckett Bridge with the two towers on either side of it – it’s a start at least.

Wow, amzing lamps. Thanks for those Graham.

That’s very much like the hip of a violin or a harp. Lovely detailing.

Thanks for the comments. Graham, there was no final fly over, no. Pitty they couldn’t fly lower – that pesky spire!

It also a pitty that they didn’t use the whole plaza but I think they needed to have road access behind the ceremony to allow the marching bands to loop back, and also for emergency vehicles. I hope next time they will have more video screens and loudspeakers.

Look.. no ads! It was also great to see the tricolour on all of the prominent buildings around the city. I’ve never seen so many.

Let’s not foget the permanent scars of 1916 (yes, one in her tit :o)

Liberty Hall, an important site of 1916

As the crowd dispersed, many people flocked to the Liffey boardwalk and to the pubs and caf

This is a fucking disgrace. The council should be dishing out heavy fines to deter these law breakers.

    Very good letter Devin.

Thanks for those Graham. That oversized blight lurking behind the building is very depressing – saw it from the DART last week. How do the developers get away with building a floor higher than the protected structure? 😡

    ESB HQ anyone?!

All the crap that blights Nassau Street.
Most of the crap offices that are found around the Green and Leeson areas.
That ugly redbrick Molseworth Street.. it sucks the life out of the area.

Is it these type of buildings you’re reffering to?

You should find some information on google searching for ‘dublin social housing’ or something
