Oh goody! Another policy manual to stick on the shelf and gather dust with all the other AAPs, LAPs, Public Realm Strategies, City Development Plans, etc, etc.
It’s the Department of Finance’s fault that Dublin’s historic paving is in absolute shambles, nothing to do with DCC at all, no. :thumbup:October 16, 2012 at 9:31 pm in reply to: college green/ o’connell street plaza and pedestrians #746672
No doubt DCC won’t bother doing any improvements to College Green until the RPA have finished laying down tracks. It’ll be a handy excuse for them to delay things for another 5 years. Classic.
Here’s a PDF of the alignement.September 19, 2012 at 9:43 pm in reply to: college green/ o’connell street plaza and pedestrians #746660
Yer man in the nip has been taken down from College Green. Anything to do with DCC?
When are they going to sort out the rest of the trashy signage in the ACAs? Westmorland Street looks like a complete dump!
Hah, brilliant photoshop, Stephen! 🙁
That’s it, I’m going to head into town with a high-vis jacket and a lump hammer, and do a job on a few shops around the city. I’m then going to pay a visit to Civic Offices and deliver a barrow-load of illegal signs like severed heads to the Planning Department.
So is everyone still against the idea of forcing the ESB to reinstate the entire terrace with high quality Georgian replicas?
The new design for the child rape memorial in the Garden of Remembrance has been released.
Here’s a recent addition to Stephen’s Green. Need I say more?October 4, 2011 at 4:49 pm in reply to: college green/ o’connell street plaza and pedestrians #746631
I sent a link to Graham’s post to Cllr Mannix Flynn from the DCC. He had this to say:
“I wish there were more like you that would support me in ridding this City and the country of unnecessary cluttering. This cluttering is inconsistent with DCCs Dev. Plan and there is no policy or strategy in this area. Keep in touch.”
Mannix earlier called for a pedestrian forum to be setup in DCC
Get in touch with him because he needs support from people like us that want Dublin rid of this clutter.
Is this still here? (Saint Andrew’s St.)
That’s great news. The Baileys sign was replaced a while ago with Nokia or something, wasn’t it? Why? Is that building exempt from the IAP?
And yes, demolish that hideous Penny’s facade and OCB House.
Good stuff, Graham! Hard to believe it’s been 5 years already viewtopic.php?t=4856
Ah Morlan, ya gave it away
Was getting impatient! It’s an interesting little area, isn’t it?
Behind the church is also a wonderful 1910s OPW-style parochial house with picturesque modillion eaves.
Any info on this t-shaped building that extends down beside Catherine Court?
The i’s dot is missing from the Castle on the other side. Odd.
That’s going to be bugging you everytime you walk past it. Better get your Tipp-ex and step ladder!
Another in Mountjoy Sq.
I wonder if the DDDA will follow suit. They haven’t erected any signage in Spencer/Point yet I don’t think. These would look well in Dún Laoghaire also.
the stone building is saying Blackpitts to me
It’s far from the Blackpitts. Here’s the other side:
And here’s the building next to it 😀
Surely Merrion Square would be a lot more useful than the Eye and Ear?!
LOL, I was thinking that myself. I could just imagine someone in DCC stuck for ideas 5 mins before lunch. “Fuck it, the Eye n’ Ear will do”.
Found this on Flickr
Anyone got any pics of the decluttering of empty poles as SC mentioned?
