ParticipantIf Althone had a similar stand running around all four sides of the ground it would be very nice indeed.
Longford really need to find a better location for their stadium.
The ground sharing proposal sound excellent. Who knows there could be two top class stadia in Dublin for 4 Eircom League clubs.
Corks plans are excellent.

ParticipantThanks Morlan. I knew of that but was just wondering if there was not a way of changiing things in control panel or something like that

ParticipantI think the kisoks look great and will do wonders for the look of the street.
However I agree with the above poster. Anyone sitting having a coffee there would require military grade hearing protection and also enjoy the same mentality as some of the Israeli settlers in the west bank 😛
We need quiter buses and less cars please.

ParticipantI totally agree PDLL. Most other countries have tolls and its a great way of getting people out of the car and into public transport.

ParticipantThe bridge kicks ass. Hopefully they will be all done by 2010.

ParticipantDid anyone see the program on RTE about the Docks ? it wa called ” the bay” . It was really hyping the docks but I thought it was over rated. Someone reckoned the port should never be moved even though they admitted that having a port at the city is completely out of step with what the rest of the developed world is doing.
I think there may be another “The Bay” program on next week. lets hope they see sense then and put forward the case for moving the port.

ParticipantI concur Ake. I think they ran out of ideas when the U2 tower got the green light. The increase in height makes it a building that you might actually notice when your passing by but little else.
Apart from the increase of height and the very mild twist the tower is a nothing and one only has to travel to barcalona and places like that to see a city which has very impresssive buildings
The Docks have been a massive flop. Something like this in England France Spain etc wouldnt even be commented on. The bar is so low in Ireland that the low standard of work is accepted and celebrated 🙁

ParticipantThe National Spatical Strategy must surely be dead in the water by now thanks to the builder led Fianna F

Ireland is showing it’s massive grip on the euro economy by building these massive, MASSIVE density developments.
MASSIVE density and grip on the Euro economy ???? I dont know about that
The 100 meter tower is a lot better than the 60meter job.

Participantthat entire project is totally over rated. I have yet to see anything that is exciting, big or new. maybe if they have a go at the port relocation we will actually see something of consequence
Maskhadov
ParticipantIm not awestruck with the U2 tower. Maybe if it were 100meter tall and had something more to offer than a simple twist

Participantin fairness some of the pictures on http://www.corksouthwest.com/visuals.htm are shocking :O

ParticipantIt should happen and the entire area should be high dentisty high quality apartments (for the accomadation).
It just takes a government decision and they can start to phase it out from 2008 over a number of years. A plan could be drawn up as to how to relocate the port between now and 2008.
Whatever happened to that Critical infastructure bill ? The number of objections would surely drop with it. The government is sitting on its ar$e and its time they thought big and acted quickly.
