ParticipantI think you should join the AAI and trot along to their lectures, frequently this ends with a trip to a local bar. It would be a good way to meet people from different firms.

ParticipantI agree, I quite like the private house built off Wellington Road by P+A Lavin Associates. Nice and respectful to the area yet still modern.

ParticipantI seem to remember a plan to detox and decomission a nuclear plant in Wales. A firm suggested a plan of planting to bring the complex back to nature while still respecting its form and purpose.
Will look it up.

ParticipantAnd what about the series of tunnels linking the blocks of the James Connolly Mermorial Hospital where that old patient died last year.

ParticipantI think I remember hearing about a passage under Merrion Street from Government Buildings to the former department offices (now Merrion Hotel) opposite.

ParticipantI wish they would renovate the exterior of the Fish market. It’s not as exciting as the fruit and veg market, but its still a fine building. There are many good stone warehouses in the back lanes off Capel Street as well as the great victorian facades like Oman, and the closed Forsye and Foryse.

ParticipantWas brought up in a bungalow.

Participanthttp://www.irisharchitect.com/ is the website of the Irish Architect magazine but it hasn’t been updated recently.
Drawingboard
ParticipantThere isn’t really one.
There are two magazines:
Plan Magazine – more developer orientated and rather fawning.
Irish Architect – journal of the RIAI and not particularly exciting.Drawingboard
ParticipantAny specific questions?

ParticipantHow did these go?
