Participanta lot of the work has so far been done by individuals living on hte street. as part of a greater project it will probably take the completion of HARP before the street is focused on again. overall very little assistance has been given by the state, probably as it would highlight the extremly run down area on this historic street’s doorstep.

ParticipantThe Arnott’s development on Abbey St. It dominates the historic if mutilated street, and destoys the old Lighthouse cinema. For good measure I would also throw in throw in the Royal Dublin Hotel at the top of O Connell St. It is just asking to be put down.

ParticipantIts all down to the cheapness of developers to increase their profits. They generally don’t use architects, clearly thinking that the form will follow the function. This together with poor materials and workmanship, again in the name of profit, give us huge eyesores that we will all be nominating in ten years time to have demolished.
