there won’t be a liffey jnct. line via grangegorman. The rpa weren’t too jazzed about having a luas line that goes that far into the northside anyway

Am I to understand that the design of U2 tower has changed again? is there still an energy centre and a gap at the base of the building with a through road like the last design? Is this it finally a definative design, final, definate, or will this be another ten years?

Would I be correct in saying that the new devlopement will take up the carlton the vacant site and the old countyu council offices? if one looks at that, It is a very larfge scale developement. Possibly the largest in the city centre these days. If it has exits onto henry street and moore street, that means some historic buildings must be knocked

Why hasn’t any body posted hear in so long? Ther are conflicting stories floating around. Some say that the site as well as the vacant site next door will be a new public plaza. Others say that the carlton, the old North Dublin county council, the carlton and the vacant site in between will be a multi story shopping center with exits on moore street. What will happen? Surely it’s not acceptable to have such a large section of the city’s main street be unused

Liberty Hall is only 59 meters tall, that’s kinda close to 50 meters

although this building will be near the height of liberty hall, it hasn’t received recognition as a high rise, perhaps because it’s a bit on the bulky side. Are the lift shafts finished yet? is the main structure starting to go up? does anyone have some more recent photos?

Any thing on the tower yet? foundation works? will be interesting to see developement of the tower through 2008, this is the only of the proposed high rise developements that’s defo going ahead as far as I know. Heuston Gate and U2 Tower seem to be suspended in planning oblivion. The National conference centre will be quite tall though. Nearly as tall as Liberty Hall.

So it’s been nearly a decade now, a waisted one in my opinion, all this time and it looks unlikely that this project will come to fruition. After all that money and man power, nothing!

is the re-developement of the docks actually going to take place or will it be the never ending story like the U2 tower in dub? there’s a proposal for a lage stadium complex and a light rail connection to the city centre. So my guess is no. I severely doubt that the City council has the means or the will to carry out such a mamoth task. Mayb they’ll release a watered down version in a few years and call it an origional masterplan for the city.
