I really like what they have done to Eyre Square. It’s so much better than it was, but then that wouldn’t be too hard! πŸ˜€ I can’t wait til the new Galway museum is completed. πŸ™‚

I was only making a statement, dave 123. I’m way too young to be bitter and serious and wouldn’t want to be anyway. Maybe you are being a little bit too serious……. Only joking!!!

Many the docklands can’t support the weight of tall buildings, as it was built on reclaimed land. It depends on what the docklands are built on.

Let’s hope we will see more architecture of this quality around the country in the near future.

I’d rather see the money spent on modern architecture. But it has to be great, not good, architecture. From what blueprints that I’ve seen on this website, I’d get foreign architects to design them. In my opinion, Irish architects seem to use the same features in their design. I’m sure that there are architects in Ireland who design their building in their own unique way but I’ve never seen it.

So if Galway or Limerick were to become cities by international stanards, how many people, at least, would have to live in them?

Things aren’t that straightforward in this country. The government would find some way to overspend or/and do a terrible job at reproducing.

People seem to really like the Ha’penny Bridge!! Nearly a hundred people think the Heuston Bridge is the most attractive over the Liffey.

Really mature GregF  ……. I have to agree with weehamster, the last thing that Dublin should be is a ‘concrete jungle’ with no trees (even if they block the view of some buildings). πŸ™

How is it that only 63 people think Heuston bridge is the most attractive on the Liffey? While it does need a good cleaning, it is definitely the nicest 19th century bridge in Dublin. But then again, there’s nothing much to compete with for that title!! πŸ™‚

You usually get more replies during the week, but don’t expect any over the weekend. At least that’s what I’ve noticed….

If they pedestrianised the area of Dublin within the canals, it would be easier to build Luas interconnectors. Ideally, the city centre should only accessible by the Luas, metro, train and bikes. There would be more open spaces to allow Dubliners and tourists admire the city. This will never happen, as there are probably more cons than pros, but it’s an idea.

Let’s just say that the Empire State Building in New York was built faster than this project.
