    drove down o’connell st this morning for the first time in a while. I thought the tress looked really well. the middle part of the street is really beginning to take shape now nicely.

    was talking to a punter from that neck of the woods who tells be that the bypass been build down there is nearly finished. it was done by some turkish road builders who managed to do it within time and budget and cause very little disrutpion in the process. any truth in this?

    i think it is a good idea as well. a lot of conditions will have to be built in to stop people selling on at a profit after a short while. do not know how they will handle this. maybe cap the selling price to the rate of inflation.

    was standing at the corner of liffey street looking at the new RS facade. could not think of what it reminded of. the security man from the jewelers came over and give me his opinion for some reason. he did not like it in no uncertain terms.

    anyway, then it struck me. it looks like the side of one on those hugh ocean going cruise liners.
