A photo of ]old station is on the petition. It used to be flanked to the left by another similar house which was in a derelict condiiton. The most recent photo shows the new unfinished station about 15 feet from the old building which stands above the Main Street rather like an island. See attachment
Could I revive this thread? The latest casualty of modernisation in Ballincollig is the planned demolition of the old garda station. This is a Victorian red brick building which used to house adjutants from the barracks.
A new garda station is currently under construction-not before time- but sadly the OPW/Garda Siochana have deemed there is little architectural merit in the old station and it is due to be razed to make way for a car park for the new station.
