It seems that the times given for posting posts is well incorrect, and has been for quite some time. If however, all the clocks in my home are off, and all radio and Tv schedules coincidentally also off to the same time then ignore this message.
Could this please be rectified?
Fun fact!: The former USSR had 7 different time zones! Or was that 9? Someone enlighten me please

Right on PTB..we used to be on CMT (Cork Mean Time) must have changed to one of the USSR zones you mentioned.
🙂 Would be nice if the timing of posts could be fixed though. -

It seems that I was wrong. The USSR had eleven time zones.

It was spread over 12 geograpically, but only observed 11.
I think Australia also deserves mention for having 3 time zones, and managing to have a one and a half hour time difference between state capitals.
South Australia GMT+9.30 Western Australia GMT+8 (except the eyre highway region which goes for GMT +08:45)
It also manages to have both horizontal and vertical time zones in summer. Well done Australia!Personally I’ve suspected for some time that the archeire servers was the final resting place of the chime in the slime, which would explain a lot.

I believe that there is a debate in the House of Commons next week about ditching GMT and moving in line with the rest of Europe. Seeminly the dark evenings are causing a lot of road deaths which could be avoided. They tried this in the early 70’s but there was a lot of pressure from the Agricultural bodies. Maybe 35 years on that lobby group doesn’t have the same clout.
Could we see Ireland ploughing it’s own furrow ( ) on this one and sticking to GMT even after Grenwich wakes up with coffee and croissants ?

Yes, the Eyre highway time zone covers an area the size of Belgium, and serves only 200 people.
For those with an interest in australian time zones
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_in_AustraliaI don’t see what all this has to do with architecture but a little bit of discussion about time zones never killed anyone….to my knowlege.
