hey would really love to hear some views and/or info about the old ucd student club. Am interested in it,s developmental history or lack of as the case may be. would appreciate any interesting insights on its architecture, use of space and particularly its history. the material i am finding out there is really sparse so anything would be useful.
I spent many a year propping up the bar in Belfield, but I recently went back there for a 10 year anniversary and found the place quite sterile (and as for the new student centre don’t get me started). Perhaps each generation feels that their version of the bar was the best – but the shabby charm it once had is now gone. God the place was even well lit which is surely wrong. And to make matters worse there is now a full restaurant service in the bar – now you can get a full meal where once there was only the dodgy toasties. Shame
