U2: Do you prefer the selected Foster design or the Zaha Hadid proposal?

Whilst Foster’s might not be great I do like its slenderness ratio. The other proposal looks odd (in a good way) but a little bulky for my liking.

Hmm. I think the Hadid proposal is just too massive. If it kept the same proportions but was only half the height, then I think it would look great. However, if the competition is to select one of Ireland’s first skyscrapers, to me it’s just too bulky…

The Zaha Hadid proposal is absolutely vile
It looks like a massive public housing development with a low rent shopping centre built beside it

It is my guess that 99% of people who say they prefer Hadids over Foster’s would be saying the opposite if Hadid building was selected by ddda

foster nailed this one but respect to the orignals!!! keep fighting…

Fosters – reasonably elegant.

In my opinion, Fosters needs the 180m*, i.e needs the ‘energy centre’ to succeed.

*Fully agree with others & have suggested for a long time that the concept of two ‘sentinels’ (God help us) rising from the ashes or whatever the hell, is ill-thought. Whatever happens, & it seems likely that both sphinx will be constructed, a context is required, i.e. some sort of scaling up in the region.

**Did anyone hear Paul Maloney? on Pat Kenny this week, was half asleep, but the gist of his comments suggested new thinking & a new approach to high rise in general.

Where’s the option for the original twisting design?
Much better than either of them in my opinion.
