The newly established Irish Architecture Foundation* seeks a curator for its inaugural architecture programme. This is a unique opportunity to work on this high profile national initiative which aims to demonstrate the value and excitement of architecture to a broad audience.
Role
To design/curate and deliver a series of architectural events to coincide with World Architecture Week 5th -11th October 2005 for the Irish Architecture Foundation, to work with the Foundation to establish its identity and consolidate its funding base.
Profile
The curator of this programme will have a detailed awareness of architecture and its culture and will demonstrate familiarity with architectural exhibitions, publications and events in Ireland and Internationally. The applicant will have a clear vision of how the programme will be delivered and working within the frameworks and policies of the Irish Architecture Foundation, will establish a dynamic programme content.
The successful candidate will have
a third level degree (as minimum) in a relevant discipline
relevant experience in architecture or the arts
considerable project management skills
highly developed communication skills
a proven track record in delivering projects on time and within budget
Basis of employmentThe initial contract will run to the end of 2005 and may be renewed, dependant on success of the programme and subsequent funding. The curator will be based at the offices of the Irish Architectural Archive, 45 Merrion Square. The curator will report to the board of the Irish Architecture Foundation. The remuneration package will reflect the skills and experience of the successful candidate.

* The Irish Architecture Foundation is a an organisation with representatives from the Architectural Association of Ireland, Dublin City Council, the Irish Architectural Archive, the Office of Public Works and the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland
