One of the few bits of fairly classy advertising in Dublin.

Alas, no more. The Heineken sign is coming down. Maybe we’ll really strike out and a huge banner for Carrolls will replace it.

      🙁

The heineken sign was really nice. Especially at night when it had those green lights behind each letter. Alot of the other signs in Dublin need getting rid of. The Carrol’s gift shop sign on O’Connell st. facing the GPO wtf is all that about?

It had been completely removed – I think it may be on its way back up. Not certain though.

Maybe in these recessionary times it’s best replaced with Tuborg or Karpackie.

I think it would be wonderful if O’Connell Bridge House was destroyed and replaced with something that matches the skyline of its neighbours

Spot on; I wonder will Guiness learn their lesson of losing it last time; given its location in a hen central I doubt it will follow Liverpool’s lead of ditching a lager for a bank; it has top be a mass market alcohol. DCC to need to ensure that its replacement is as tasteful as the Heinekin treatment this signage is clearly the best pitch in the City and forms part of an ACA; Bacardi with a Green palm tree anyone?

Perhaps they were just taking it down for some maintenance.

      They didn’t hang around.

Any chance they can have a look at the viaduct in Malahide ?

As did “HARP”, our national lager.
I remember people (not from Dublin) refer to the building as Harp House.
