In 2003 Sarah Halpin studied the history and status of stone roofs in County Clare for a Masters in Urban and Building Conservation thesis. We have put an outline of this work at http://www.stoneroof.org.uk/clare.html (sorry about the slow loading pictures).
I’d like to expand the Irish section of the stoneroof website. Does anyone have any information about or references to other areas where limestone or sandstone (not slate) has been used for roofing, especially where the roofs still exist?
Thanks
Terry
