ParticipantI’m new to this site, was born in Ireland but moved to Australia with my family when I was 16. Myself and my fiancée are hoping to get married back home in Ireland next year, December 06 to be exact so am looking to find a nice R.C church near Naas, more the Celbridge side if possible. Would love a small stone church as the numbers will be small enough. We moved around a lot when we lived in Ireland we don’t have one home parish so to speak but a lot of my relatives live in Wicklow and Kildare and we’ve found a hotel that we like in Naas so will be looking for somewhere close by.
Any recommendations would be very appreciated.

ParticipantThere are 85 County Kildare churches listed and illustrated in the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage. Not all are small, RC, of stone or near Naas. Or even still in use. But you can search by type and town or townland at http://www.buildingsofireland.ie to see if there’s one that might fit the bill.

ParticipantWhat about the Stone Church in Straffan. It is a lovely little church- I don’t know wheither it is RC or COI. (I think Ronan Keating may have got married there).
There is also a lovely church in a on the back road from Kildare town to Clane. It is in a place called Prosperous or Kilmeague or Robertstown.
